Topic: Innovative Diabetes CE Dinner Program
The prevalence of uncontrolled diabetes continues to be a major
burden on the U.S. health care system. But there is an effective
alternative to more and more medication, and more and more
complications. The Physicians Committee for Responsible
Medicine (PCRM) and research colleagues have shown that a
low-fat, low Glycemic Index vegetarian diet can help to turn the
usual progression of diabetes around. This is a message of hope
for people with diabetes—and for those who care for them.
I am pleased to invite you and your colleagues to attend "A New
Approach to Diet and Diabetes", an upcoming Continuing
Education program sponsored by PCRM. This complimentary
dinner program features Neal Barnard, M.D., on efficacy and
adherence in trials using a low-fat, plant-based diet for type 2
diabetes. In addition, Caroline Trapp, MSN, APRN, BC-ADM,
CDE will share effective ideas and resources for translating this
research into clinical practice.
This CE program is designed for physicians, dietitians, certified
diabetes educators, physicians’ assistants, and nurse
practitioners.
There is no charge for this program, but space is limited.
Registration is required, and is available at
www.pcrm.org/diabetes , or by calling 202-686-2210, ext. 308.
Please visit our web site to view the full program brochure.
